A guide to interlocking panels
Interlocking panels are moulded polymer tiles, 40 mm thick, that lock edge to edge into a continuous 3D pattern. Pyramids, hexagons, petals and chevrons repeat across the wall to make a sculpted surface of light and shadow. Inlife shows 28 designs in white, grey, silver, champagne and gold.

What interlocking panels are
Each piece is a 3D tile moulded in polymer, about 40 mm deep. The edges are shaped so that each tile meets the next without a visible break, and the relief carries on across the whole wall.
Each tile is small compared with a sheet, so the pattern scales easily to any wall, from a narrow column to a wide lobby.
The seven patterns
- Pyramid
- Tapered pyramid pieces, 3 to 5 in wide and 12 in long. Sharp, directional shadows.
- Windmill
- Hexagons of 10 x 8.75 in with a turning, pinwheel relief.
- Symmetry
- 9 x 9 in squares with a balanced geometric relief.
- Beehive
- Elongated hexagons of about 4 x 12 in, for a honeycomb wall.
- Arrow
- Chevron pieces of about 7 in, forming arrows across the wall.
- Petals
- 9 x 9 in tiles with a soft floral relief.
- Crown
- Hexagons of about 8.6 in with a raised, crown-like centre.
Colours
Each pattern comes in white, grey, silver and champagne, with gold in selected designs. White shows the relief most clearly; silver and champagne add a metallic sheen that changes as you move past.

Designing with 3D tiles
These panels depend on light. A grazing light from above or the side throws long shadows across the relief; even, frontal light flattens it. Plan the lighting with the pattern.
Bold patterns like Pyramid and Arrow suit large walls viewed from a distance. Softer ones like Petals and Symmetry suit bedrooms and smaller rooms. Keep the surrounding walls and furniture plain so the texture stands out.
Interlocking panels or carved panels?
