Material guide
Choosing a ceiling
In a large room the ceiling is the biggest open surface, and often the one people notice. Linear and sculpted ceilings give lobbies, offices and restaurants clear lines and a timber finish overhead.
The ceiling range
- Baffle ceilings
- Suspended vertical WPC strips in wood-grain shades, set in parallel rows.
- Parametric ceilings
- Flowing, computed forms in which each strip is cut to a different profile, creating waves and curves across the ceiling.
- Soffit panels
- Slim linear wood-look panels for ceilings, porches and external soffits.
How to choose
Baffles suit long rooms where you want to lead the eye, such as corridors, open offices and restaurants. Parametric ceilings become the main feature in lobbies, lounges and retail. Soffit panels finish porches, verandas and covered entrances with a timber look.
Spacing and depth change the effect entirely. Close-set baffles look like a solid ceiling, while wider spacing leaves more of the space above open. See the options at the Experience Centre in Choolai.
Questions
Before

What is a parametric ceiling?
A ceiling made of strips cut to different profiles, so together they form waves and curves. It is designed digitally and suits lobbies, lounges and retail.
Where are soffit panels used?

What is a baffle ceiling?
A ceiling of suspended vertical strips, spaced in rows across a large room. Inlife's baffles are WPC, in wood-grain shades.
