Material guide
A guide to exterior fluted panels
Exterior fluted panels are WPC lengths with a wood-grain face and deep vertical grooves. Used across a façade, they give the linear rhythm of timber battens in a single board.
What they are
Each length is 216 mm wide, 26 mm thick and 2.9 m long (about 9.5 ft), with a wooden finish.
Shades
Ten shades run from pale to black: Sycamore and Silver Oak; Natural Teak and Burma Teak; Ipe, Rose Wood and African Walnut; and Grey, Silver Grey and Black for a contemporary look.
Where it suits
- Façades
- Full or partial cladding on building fronts.
- Balconies
- Balcony walls and screens.
- Soffits
- The underside of canopies and overhangs.
- Fences and gates
- Boundary lines and entrance gates.
Designing with it
Teak and walnut shades sit well with exposed concrete and stone. Greys and black suit a sharper, modern elevation. Running the flutes vertically makes a façade feel taller.
Fluted panels or timber tubes?
Fluted panels give a continuous grooved surface. Exterior timber tubes are separate lengths spaced apart, so light and air pass between them. Both are on display at the Experience Centre.
Choosing a shade
Bring a photo of the room or the drawings to the Experience Centre in Choolai, Chennai, and we will set the options out side by side. Samples can also be sent to offices in Chennai for viewing.
