A guide to natural wood cladding
Natural wood cladding is made from reconstituted hardwood fibre, pressed into boards, 9.5 mm thick, with a real timber texture. It comes as long weatherboards, grooved panels and shingles, 3660 mm long, in a natural finish or primed for paint, for façades, entrances and outdoor rooms.

What it is
The boards are reconstituted hardwood timber: wood fibre pressed into a dense board, then given a grain or sawn texture on the face. They look and feel like timber, with the regular sizes of a manufactured board. Standard boards are 9.5 mm thick, and panels are about 3660 mm long.

Natural or primed
Natural boards keep the warm brown of the wood fibre. They can be left as they are, stained, or both. Left unfinished in direct sun, natural boards gradually turn silver-grey, which some designs set out to achieve. Primed boards come ready for paint, for a crisp white or coloured façade with the timber texture still visible beneath.
Sizes
Boards and panels are 9.5 mm thick and up to 3660 mm long. Panels are 1196 mm or 1220 mm wide; weatherboards come in 150 and 300 mm widths.
