What they are
Each tube is a hollow WPC section, 40 x 60 mm, in 2900 mm lengths. The faces carry a brushed wood grain in a matt finish, so a run of tubes looks like a row of timber battens. Every length is the same section and shade, so the spacing on a screen or pergola stays even from end to end.

Designing with timber tubes
Spacing decides the look. Tubes set close together form a near-solid screen; wider gaps give a lighter, more open grid and throw stronger lines of shadow. Vertical runs make an elevation look taller; horizontal runs make it look longer and lower.
Timber tones sit well against exposed concrete, white plaster, black metal and stone cladding. Ash Grey pairs with grey stone and glass; the teaks and walnut warm up a pale façade.
Timber tubes or soffit panels?
Timber tubes are open battens with space between them. Soffit panels are flat, grooved planks that form a continuous lining under a ceiling or roof overhang. Many projects use both: a soffit overhead and a screen of tubes below.
